Monday, while driving to school I heard a local radio station talking about American Idol having a new judge for season 8. This inspired me to come home and immediately look for more details. I found in my query that the new judge Kara DioGuardi is very qualified to be the fourth judge. However, I can’t help but wonder, will DioGuardi bring Idol the extra spunk that it needs right now? Or is four a crowd?

Four is a crowd. What happens in the case of a tie? Simon gets to make the final decision. Is this such a great idea? From watching past season’s I have noticed Simon says no to people who go on to be in the top 10. It just isn’t fair to leave the fate of these hopeful contestants in the hands of Simon.

It is understandable why they would get a new judge when people have been becoming less interested in the show,but why not instead cut an old judge, if the ratings are going down clearly the viewers are not satisfied with something. They could always cut Paula, although she does add a sort of comedy to the show, does anyone ever understand what she says anyway?
